I have a naim 5i-2 and been using tellurium q black cables that I liked but the deal fell through. I was using a lfd interconnect and the naim naca5 speaker cables with good results. A friend of mine let me use a set of the new MIT style line sl-9 speaker cables and the sl-6 interconnect. I wasn't expecting much of a change since everyone is saying the naca5 is the way to go...I have to tell you these MIT sound VERY good bigger sound stage deep. I know the new naim stuff isn't as picky with the speaker cables. I don't find and hum or lack of power if anything sounds a little more powerful. I will let settle in for a week and try the lfd and naca5 again. but man what a surprise....

how are you liking the MIT?
the funny thing in the past I tried the mit matrix series and did not like them to lean and detailed sounds like they were going after the nordost crowd. the skyline series sounds like the regular mit but more cohesive and cleaner sounds pretty nice to me...
Which Matrix were you using?
Matrix 6 interconnect and 12 speaker able. The skyline is a smidge warmer than the matrix the voice a little more organic sounding and still has the clarity and speed and impact. The skyline is a very nice match with this naim.
IME, Naim gear is very fast and revealing. A truly neutral cable/cord is certainly needed for best results. Maybe this is one reason the company pushes its own IC.
I did try the naim naca5 speaker cable it did have a nice voicing found the top end a little rolled off though. I talked to a couple of naim dealers and they told me the new naim stuff is not cable dependent on the naim cables like the old naim stuff. A good set of high value cables rca will also work great on the set up. I had a blue dragon rca to din against the Mit all rca and the Mit was MUCH better across the board. And the Mit skyline 9 speaker cables I flet are better than the naim naca5 and tellurium black. Right now I feel these are best cables for this amp smooth detailed a huge soundstage comapried to the naim speaker cables. The only rookie mistake I made is usually the right side speaker terminals on a amp is for the right speakers not with naim the are the opposite. My friend who came over for a listen who owns a lot of naim listened and said it sounds great and knew the track and said something didn't sound correct though. Looked and saw I had the speaker terminals hooked up backwards looked and laughed. He said he did this also when he first got into naim and switched them . Not only did the music lock in better it had a bigger soundstage. Lol
Any new developments w/ the MIT?
They sound fantastic so far. I put the naca5 back in and it sounded muffled compared to the MIT. They are a fantastic match with this naim 51-2 very happy..The mit has a incredible balance from top to bottom..they also don't have that big box on the end anymore they are very small actually i talked to mit direct and they moved from all those capacitors and inductors and what ever else was in these big boxes to a a very small box and using microchips to control the poles of articulation. What ever they are doing they sound fantastic...
The funny thing is I was listening last night and I was listening to a cd of jimmy Witherspoon and Ben Webster called "roots". Great music. I had the system playing all day while I was gone. The man from Mit told me they will be good out of the box and then go dull and a little flat or lifeless don't be alarmed that is the breakin process. Them give them another 75 hrs or so and you will be pleasantly surprised what will happen everything will get much larger more natural better bass etc. so after my first 50 hrs of playing I did notice the soundstage go alittle dull and non engaging. And gradually as I put more hrs on them, I am noticing a better soundstage depth and hearing instruments in the back of the stage better and more defined. If this is what's gonna happen I am gonna be in for a treat. Will keep you updated. Btw to all the naim guys. I do admit the naca5 speaker cable is nice but there is other cables that will work better or as good as the naim cabling. Also I believe naims newer line of gear is a lot more user friendly with other calling and gear. I would like to try a naim CD player some day but I am using and love my jaton operetta CD player I ah e talked about with increadable results with the naim 5i-2 integrated. I also tried a rca to 5 pin din cable on the naim and the Mit rca wasn't just alittle better it was a lot better so it's all trial and era. Enjoy.

Many Thanks! it would interesting to learn if the cables/cords had some burn-in at the factory? Otherwise, give any cable/power cord, 200 hrs, at least.
Many Thanks! earnie3-
MIT cables/cords, may very well be the most advanced products in their niche'. I have seen many videos of Bruce talking about the R&D of his products. Keep me posted as you continue to break-in and list some of your test/demo trax along the way.
Enjoy an evening of great music- earnie3!
So far very nice has a very nice organic flow to the music.
Better than the Tellurirum?
I won't say "better" but a little different. the tellurium was a little leaner and a little more forward. the mit is a little silkier and smidgen more organic sounding. right now if I had to pick I would says MIT...but still have to put more time on the mit's will update later...
I look forward to the updates. Also, please list your demo discs.
Many Thsnks! earnie3-
please keep me posted as to which cables/cords you finally decide to settle in your rig.
