I'm posting here as this is a wiring related issue. I'm building an amp for my 2nd system. While most of the internal wiring will be either 14 or 18 awg (Vampire cast copper) , for the input signal wiring I've settled on 23 awg Neotech 7/9 solid silver/teflon wire. All my strippers only go down to 22 awg. I have an Ideal 45-092 which I like a lot and I could order the 20 - 30 awg blade set for, or both Hakko and Klein both make out front 20 - 30 awg strippers that look ok. Alas none of these contains a die specifically for 23 awg .Is 22 close enough to 23 that it won't matter (teflon coated remember ? Should I make an initial cut using a good 22 awg die and finish with a razor and then remove with needlenose ? I only need 12 cuts so I'd like to forgo a thermal stripper if I can. OPINIONS PLEASE!!!!!
Follow Ups:
The tool is rated for 22-10 AWG, but it works just fine with my 26 AWG OTA and XLO solid core wire.
The PLUS side of it is the cutter is not going to nick your valuable wire!
