I am using the Hubble all brass outlets and the all brass bryant 8366 ac 20 plug (unplated). Looking, as as always for deeper fuller bass. Harmonic richness and soul are more important to me than speed and clarity... not that I mind speed and clarity. Brightness and unnatural treble I don't like. Any suggestions?? Thanks, Tweaker

You might consider the now classic Furutech FI-11M(Cu) which mates well with just about any AC outlet (including a brass Hubbell), and provides better performance, including the bottom end than a typical brass AC plug.
Best price found:
I read that the FI-11 is alittle on the lean side. The reason I don't consider the vh audio wire for interconnect is that I want to use a larger gauge. There are people that sell high grade bare wire. What are people supposed to do with that? I don't understand why there is no enameled upocc around? Enamel is the thinnest coating. Tweaker

I wonder where you read about the Furutech being lean? I have compared it to several other plugs and found it to be neutral yet very musical with deep and controlled bass. I also believe wire geometry plays an important role in PC sound, possibly more than the wire itself.
The rest of your post is a bit confusing. You ask about AC plugs, then fire off something about IC wire. Huh?
Peace,
Tom E
Tom, other comments on this post talk about the Furutech 11 being less warm, less bloated than others. "Not more bass than...other plugs" Deep and clear and fast do beat bloated though. This plug has a lot of respect on this forum. Ah, what to do. The comments about interconnect were a belated response to Duster from another thread. Thanks, Tweaker
The old-school, hardware store sourced Pass & Seymour 5266-X AC plug presents a big bottom end, with subdued treble if that's what you want. It's not Audio Grade, and IME it's only interesting application is for use with the DIY Asylum Power Cord project, in which the 5266-X behaves not unlike a tone control for a medium gauge 14 AWG Belden 19364 power cord that otherwise presents lackluster bass performance, IMO.

Hi Bob, Something about performing radical surgery on connectors is not an attractive idea to me :-) Since changing out a set of more prodigious bass presenting speaker cables for those with subjectively greater speed, I have found the Pass & Seymour 5266-X to be rather weak in the bottom end. I'll try it on a DIY JPS Labs cable power cord that has too much bloom in that department, though.
Thanks Duster-san. That's interesting. Might try that plug. Would it be correct to assume that the PS bass is bigger, deeper , more prominant than the Furu 11 plug?? Tweaker
The bass is definitely bigger, but I can't say whether or not the bass seems deeper than the Furutech FI-11M(Cu), since the Furutech presents a more natural sounding sonic signature, IME. Like I said, the bass is more pronounced, while the top end is more reserved than a Furutech FI-11M(Cu), and more so than any AC plug I've experienced, for that matter.
IME, the Furutech FI-11M(Cu) is the most neutral sounding Audio Grade AC plug. Perhaps a gold plated Furutech FI-11M(G) would be more to your liking.
