I auditioned the SR UEF tuning devices a couple of weeks ago and like what I heard but am disturbed about their marketing strategy and I have seen many long time customers ditch their SR cables because of it.I'm surprised that they don't have some type of credits for their old bullets or giving the customer the opportunity to select the UEF that suits their system verses SR mandatory gray/silver selection. I can only imagine at some point that our wish may come true but at a higher price point due to the demand of a certain UEF tuning device.
Why can't we select the tuning devices to suit our needs? I already have several tuning devices in a box that I will never use... and if that's the case, my SR inventory will not go further than my Tungsten PC...

Wiggy,
Thanks! for sharing. I know that Transparent offers credit for its upgrade path. Any other cable/cord company (ies) doing this as well?
I have to disagree with Ron (Wiggy) on this subject. First I think it is quite remarkable that the new UEF bullets will work with previous generation cables. I have two full systems that use Synergistic System cables, power conditioners, and Tranquility Bases. Now with UEF available I can not only fine tune my system but instead I can ultra tune my system. I have just spent about 50 hours changing various Enigma bullets and the new UEF bullets at most of the possible locations. My final solution was a mix of the original Enigma bullets and the new UEF bullets. The final mix has not what I had predicted or would have necessarily ordered.
Today I have two gray UEF bullets I am not using. But with it being so easy to change bullets, tomorrow when I am listening to a different cd or SACD I may change a bullet instead of getting "new cable fever".
Certainly it is easy enough to sell or swap bullets here at the Audio Asylum Trade ads and at no cost to post..
I would rather swap out a bullet than break in cable after cable trying to "find" the sound I am wanting. .
Thanks! for sharing David.
The point I was trying to make is that most of us have already evaluated these bullets in our systems and know which ones we prefer and should be able to order two gray, two silver or a combination of either. The way thing are now, SR does not give the user an option.
I personally do not want to hang on to bullets for future system changes, would rather buy as my system evolves. I'd love to buy one of your new gray bullets from you if you're interested in selling.
Thanks,
Wig
Guys,
Visit SR homepage and look under UEF board post; you'll see probably for a short time their marketing strategy in producing the new UEF...
Thanks! Ron.
Ron.
I am sure we can work something out. Give me a shout next weekend.
I am a slow evaluator compared to you. But the good thing is we are both enjoying our audio journies.
David Pritchard,
Will do.
Ron
Wiggy,
I couldn't agree with you more. The disdain and arrogance Synergistic Research displays towards its customers is unequalled for a company still in business. It's a shame, actually, for they have made some superior products but it's antics such as you describe that leaves a bitter taste and which prompted, at least me, to unload their products despite any of their possible sonic benefits.
It would take very little, at least in my opinion, to garner customer loyalty by offering their customers a simple upgrade path for the specific UEF that they use rather than leave their customers feeling that they are being taken for a ride.
