I'm building a system and need to run some very long lengths of speaker cable in wall. I was about to purchase Cardas Crosslink until someone advised me that was one of their brighter sounding cables. I don't know if this is true or not, but I want the opposite of bright. I want a warm, thick, romantic, dark, full, syrupy, laid back sound. I like Cardas Quadlink 5C, but it is not sold in bulk. I've also heard that some of the Monster cables are very warm and smooth, though I have a hard time believing that is true. Also curious about Purist Audio and Ven Den Hull, but don't know much about their lines. I would really appreciate some recommendations.

The Purist Audio Elementa speaker cables I had years ago pretty much fit the character you're looking for as well. I believe there's modern version of this cable, but have no idea if it's still flavored the same.
How long of runs are you talking about? I can see if have enough this weekend if you are interested. It's the blue jacketed version.
I know I have several 12' pieces that are cut and ends are tinned with Cardas Quad solder and some not cut.
You might try Analysis Plus, I wouldn't describe them as you did but they are not bright and the midrange is very natural and musical. If you move up the line like to the Solo then the highs become a bit more revealing.
AudioQuest Type 4 speaker cable exactly fits your description.

I was going to suggest Cardas SE 9/11/15 series, but that starts at $8/ft
(at partsconnexion), goes to $13/ft and requires high-efficiency (between
> 95dB to > 100dB) speakers.
There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.

Good call Duster. That's exactly what I was thinking..... reasonable on the wallet as well.
Not to mention AQ Type 4 cable is UL / CL3 certified for in-wall use, which is the OP's application.
