Do OEMs use Vampire?
Others?
Thanks,

I have tested dozens of them and the winner is the Eichmann Phonopod HC-XTC
.
I don't know what current ARC production uses.
The ones that turn me off are the ones claiming "dash-style" connectors; "WBT-style" connectors. Yeah, I always zoom right to imitation ice cream...
One piece of gear I own uses them. I have replaced the Tiffany RCA jacks 2x in the past due to wear.
My favorite female rca upgrade is the Vampire CM2F/CB Copper Base rca jack:
Switchcraft. Doesn't have the high-end prestige, but doesn't have the high end cost either. Just as good and have been around for awhile.
I've used their CMHex for years but then discovered the audible superiority of Copper without brass. Began using the very expensive CM-1s.
Now I buy these Vintage Audio Lab , stupid cheap and excellent, if you don't mind the hated Cardas style ground connection. They're brass, not solid copper but still are nickel free and sound good. Did I mention cheap?

Just curious if the difference is, as I understand, copper vs. brass.
And whether that difference would likely be audible.
Thanks,
Hukk
You are correct. I've never tried the brass version, only the copper version which I've used for most of my rca jack upgrades. That said, I like the particular design so much that I would likely choose the brass version for a lower-budget project if the copper version was deemed too pricey. For example, I selected a set of Vampire's brass version binding posts for an Acurus power amplifier placed in a second system rather than the more expensive copper version, and found the brass version to sound substantially better than the sub par stock binding posts of the Acurus power amplifier, so it was at least a satisfactory upgrade, in that particular case.

The copper version is sweeter with greater fine detail. It is audible. The Brass has a harsher quality to the music, although if you never compare you will never know.

Hukk,
Yes Vampire is still used along with WBT & Cardas. I am sure there are others, but they seem to be the forerunners.
