The temptation to buy just 'one more' cable has been in my mind.. but i have so far successfully not bought that one.
Hooray!!
Follow Ups:
It's trade-in time at Audio Advisor for your beloved Pangea PCs...
At $350 for the four meter i would want for my amp. i just am not willing to blow $350, (or even $300) on one cable.
My four meter AC9 Pangea cost like $120 each.. Which was a decent value.
i cannot justify $twice that plus. for what would be a rather small improvement.
(i do not 'buy' the jaw dropping sort of praise some like to toss around for trivial improvements. (though i have been guilty of them too.)
Yeah it might be a little tiny bit better.. SO WHAT?
Something may perform a great sonic change for the better but when it starts to get up to the price of components, I have to scratch my head and go "Well, ...?"
remove your cables and clean the connectors. Try and resist the temptation to experiment or try new cables once you have disconnected the existing cables to clean them. Maybe hide your credit cards and checkbook during the process. Have fun.
I had gone 2 years but having read about Tellurium Q Blue speaker cable and getting no reply with a post further down I have sent for a pair. I will review them when I get them and do some listening.

At the risk of making a serious response, what cables do you have Elizabeth?
Jim
The oldest wires are some 1980's bulk Mark levinson wire (thin tan Teflon covers, marked 'swiss made') I bought and originally had Radio Shack gold RCA on (back then The gold rat shack was all one could get)
A year or two ago I retipped the wires with Vampire "tiffany" style RCA and started using them again. Closest in sound to the homemade Levinson is Cardas.. FYI
I like to use them in the digital areas... I have seven sets of the Levinson wires, and I will never sell them. i ony wish I had bought MORE of the bulk wire when i had the opportunity.
I have one Cardas set I bought used. It is in use from DAC to tube buffer.
I have Kimber hero 7 meter XLR from preamp to amp
I own some Kimber KCAG I bought many years ago (used) I use them sparingly, as they really need the finest electronics to be worth using.
I use the KCAG from my Audio research Sp-15 (I use it just forthe tubed phono section) I own both XLR and RCA KCAG. And then some PBJ Kimber which i am currently not using
So most of my wires are old. The newest is the 7 meter Hero bought a little over two years ago. (then the replaced RCA on the levinsons.. I bought the RCA shells like five years ago.. and only got around to doing the work last year LOL the Levinson wire just sat in the closet. Now I use them again.)
I use biwired Kinber 8TC for the amp/speakers (Kimber 8TC for the center and front surround in my home theater too)
So i am a Kimber girl. And then Pangea for A/C. Every detachable A/C cord is replaced with Pangea.

Thanks Elizabeth, quite a variety and history. Interesting you have some wire that only the best components justify using.
My interconnects are PBJ. At the time it was a praised budget interconnect; I'm still using them. How bad are they :-) ?
But don't you wake up at night and lay there wondering if the latest cables might make your system sound better?
Thanks,
Jim
I used them for a long time.
If I were to move up in the Kimber line from PBJ.. I would try Hero interconnects. But PBJ is pretty good.
Be aware a LOT of counterfeit Hero, KCAG and 8TC on Audiogon. Even the Kimber site now has a big warning about counterfeit Kimber.
So if the used price is too good. well it is too good and most likely fake.
Some woman in california always had piles of 8TC for sale via Audiogon. I even emailed Roy Kimber about her..
Also Hero was being sold 'new in packaging' from Ohio via the Gon last year at way too cheap prices and must have been counterfeit.
Huh. Seems like every hobby I get into has counterfeit something.
I have heard Kimber is a bit on the bassy side. Geez now I'm talking like an audiophile.
Jim
I hope you are simply enjoying the music now!!
After years of ignorance towards Wireworld, I'm enthused over a set of new rca interconnect cables purchased the other day (cables in the mail) for a moderate-cost pair that, at least in description, fits my idea of what high performance cables are all about, regardless of price-point. A big mystery is how little the particular Wireworld Equinox 6 rca interconnect is talked about, or even mentioned on the web, even though stellar reviews are readily available, thereof. So, it's time for this Cable Guy to put on vanguard armor and explore what may simply become a hit or miss proposition = Good fun ;-D
I've needed for some time. Been on MY mind.
It's also the first piece of audio gear I've bought in over a year.
A (used) TG Audio SLVR PC for the pre-amp.
BEST recent move I've done even if it's the only one.
It REALLY makes things sparkle and has taken listening up a notch.
It was a GREAT move!
Money VERY well spent!
Expectations SURPASSED!
Not that I'm trying to influence you or anything, just saying congratulations in a long winded manner!

...with Neotec's best-silver-conductor cable, adding an 18' length of DHLabs PowerPlus from my main p-con to the new McCormack DHA-HT5 multichannel poweramp, and hardwiring lengths of DHLP+ to my V-steen 5A wooferamps.I hope your happiness with your current system continues for a while; it sure is less expensive that way! :-)

The ferrite bead on the DH Labs Power Plus seems to be a good candidate for an upgrade to an inexpensive Highwire Audio Power Wrap (0.56" version). IME, ferrite beads tend to present a somewhat compressed sonic signature as compared to the more open sounding Highwire Audio Power Wrap. A notable aspect of the Power Wrap is the ability to tune a power cord, which in your case might come in handy for custom tuning your powered bass drivers.
See link:
dh power plus cord sounds a bit dark for the bass.
tubey day!
Elizabeth - how long since you last showered? An update would be great and equally relevant...
I remember it clear. I got caught in a downpour, it was Summer, and no one around. So i took off all my clothes and got a real proper cleaning!
Ain't had the chance to strip naked in a good downpour since.Ain't much on 'water'. I also like to wear my clothing until it just falls off. Most good clothes last two, maybe three years what with never washing them.
Bedding, now that lasts five good years without a change, easy. Sheets don't much wear out.
