I'm concerned that the upper level rhodium plated OCB-1 DXs and EXs models might sound too 'hi-fi-ish', but I would seek reports of how the rhodium models actually sound, though.
All things considered, if you want to keep costs down, but still want to plug the power distributor into a SOTA Oyaide R1 Beryllium AC outlet installed at the wall, I might consider the entry level Oyaide OCB-1 SX Power Distributor with the stock unplated polished brass AC plug re-terminated with an Oyaide P-004 Beryllium AC plug from the get-go or perhaps down the road when more audio dollars become available for an upgrade. just my 2 cents

Im leaning towards the SX.
Many thanks!!!!!
Actually, it's a bit misleading for me to say the Oyaide OCB-1 SX power distributor is entry level, since its design intention is to essentially be a pro audio power distributor with certain criteria in mind. Among other things, the fact that non-plated electrical contacts and a flexible power cord design are involved in the product points more towards modernized old school audiophile gear rather than entry level gear, per se.
I would think audiophile listeners who prefer classic old school bare brass Hubbell AC outlets and bare brass Wattgate/Marinco AC plugs might really enjoy what Oyaide has to offer, since there's more than just the various plating schemes they tend to implement which makes Oyaide a cutting edge "Audio Grade" AC delivery gear maker.
I hope to see reports someday from audiophiles who might try a "deluxe" Oyaide OCB-1 SX within their more traditional bare brass AC delivery systems.
I think it looks very interesting and will try to fit it in budget soon. Just purchased PS Audio PW M2 and just built a new server so that all for the audio budget for a while.
Very surprised there's not more interest in this item.....
