This may be a silly question but is there a difference between demo cables and regular cables. I just bought nordost Heimdall 2M speaker cables so that is why I am asking. Thanks.

While I agree with Duster and willkayakforfood that sonically there will be no difference, I do not like how Nordost marks their demo cables. I believe it will affect their re-sale value if you ever sell them.
I just bought a pair of 2.5 meter Heimdall speaker cables at their 50% off closeout pricing. I saw a guy on Canuck Audiomart selling some demo Heimdall for essentially the same price as the new stuff, 50% off, I opted for the new stuff.
I agree with willkayakforfood. At least you know the cable connectors are properly terminated. As long as the demo cables are like-new with some burn-in time, it's all good...
If you're at all concerned with having to deal with the growing pains of newborn cables, purchasing used (including "demo") is certainly a nice way to go. Not only do you get a discount, but they're pre-cooked for you! (some cable manufacturers/distributors will pre-cook cables for you - for an extra charge!).
When I'm interested in a particular cable, I first look for it used/demo. If I really can't find it used, I'll settle for a new one.
