In Reply to: Van Den Hul Integration Hybrid interconnect -- burn-in time? posted by AudioA on February 14, 2005 at 19:38:07:
Thanks, everyone, for your responses.Let me offer my observations now that my new Van Den Hul Integration Hybrid interconnects (from CD to integrated SET amp) have 70+ hours on them.
IMO, the folks who say that this cable can be enjoyed right out of the box are largely, but not entirely correct. In the ripening process, the "inner detail" aspect has improved -- considerably! Additionally, after about 25 hours, a certain slight edginess disappeared.
At the present time, I can make a pronouncement -- with my equipment I think this is a wonderful interconnect. The biggest plus is that the product is not, in the least, fatiguing. My listening is mostly classical (some jazz too). If you like orchestral music, and you want "big picture AND details", this is a marvellous cable! I checked out the competition at this price, before buying (borrowed cables from 4 friends, including a ripened set of this product) and I can highly recommend the VDH to classical listeners.
