I got a new preamp Carver ct 7 and I have him from the thorens td 320 with Stanton 681 eee.
The amp is a Dynaco st 70 but sounds good through CD player . Just hum when playing turntable .
Follow Ups:
The polarity of the AC plugs where one getting reversed may stop the hum.
Your TT may have an AC plug where both blades are the same.. Try flipping just one plug over.
What Inter-connects are you using between TT & Pre?
are they shielded?
is the ground continuous? - it should be shielded and continuous
Is the Power cord on the Dynaco a grounded cord?, and is the power cord on the pre grounded? - one needs to be defeated if both are grounded-
Is the TT placed directly over the Pre?
Need a bit more info-
Happy Listening
I ran unshielded cables from a Thorens/Rabco with a high out Grado to phono stage to passive to LF/HF passive biamp . Zero hum with unshielded Speltz anticables interconnects. So it's possible.....

6bq5a , my friend who built the Dynaco played it for me and no hum on his Thorens or Dynaco. might be cables, Plug on Dynaco is not grounded. Removing the ground from turntable made no difference. So change the RCA plugs and see .

So I had to remove the ground wire from TT to preamp to get the hum to go away. Ground loop I guess.
