On sale is the DAYTON DTA-1 amplifier.
For 25$ I don't see how you could miss.
I'm NOT affiliated with these guys in any way, but WILL be sending off so I can complete my Cost-No-Object Garage System.
Too much is never enough
Follow Ups:
I use one in the garage hooked up to a pair of JBL bookshelf speakers. Does a good job there. More power than I need for that application. I run my Cowon M2 playing .wav files. The little Cowon can go up to 90 hrs. on a charge. I havent measured the time, but I can go a couple of months between charges. All I need for a garage system.

New amp will arrive in a week or so.
I'll go ahead and pre-mount the speakers and run some wire to where I intend to put the amp.

unless you already have one, and depending on your source, of course.
Amp has a 3.5mm input. that's FINE, since I'll use my iPod Touch w/MP-3 files for 99% of my time.
In times past, I used the 2x RCA to 3.5mm to get my 'pod into my stereo.
But now? I have a front panel 3.5mm on my Parasound P5 (good idea!) which makes things REAL easy.
I can ALSO control iTunes with my phone using a 'remote' application and either get my tunes to my stereo with either hardwire of USB or perhaps, in the future, get a BlueTooth Dongle which will work with my DAC.
But for the garage? All I want is some background tunes while I 'putter'.

I have one of those things sitting in a box upstairs...somewhere. Think I paid $25 for it about 10 years ago. It's actually not bad. Sounds pretty good, in fact, as a mobile device amplifier with some small speakers.
It's when they state things like "sound quality rival esoteric tube amps" that I lose all respect for Parts Express (and I actually like them). Spitting out marketing crap like that serves no purpose.
Oh you had respect for them at one time? LOL , sorry.

I was hoping for a small bag of 1W tantalum silver non-magnetic resistors.

Neither do I. My PS3 works in that capacity.
But how About a very low power amp for temp / portable or garage duties?
I'm heading for the movies but WILL order one up when I return.

"Dayton Audio's DTA-1 mini amplifier has the heart of a serious performer, in a truly portable package. The DTA-1's Class-T output chip produces imaging, dynamics, and sound quality that rival esoteric tube amps—up to 15 watts per channel is on tap to push compact speakers."
Forget the Stereophile Class A equipment list, this thing will trounce all of them!
