There is a fellow close to me who has an Aragon 4004 mkII for sale. Any experiences with this amp. I would like to take my tube amp out for the summer. If you look at my system page you will see that I currently bi-amp, with H-K PA2000 driving the bottom end. Would these mate well with my ARC VT50 in a bi-amp mode? Even if not I might buy them to use as a summer amp. My tubes do heat up the room. I have dealt with this guy before and find him honest and fair.

Follow Ups:
i heard the 8008bb drive a pair of martin logan sl3s at a place called sound lab, about 75 lbs of quality kit and excellent sound. good bass, warm and rich sonics, considered purchasing at that time before settling on current amplifiers in my system.

I certainly like mine; bought it used in the 90s. Performed flawlessly.
I should recap at some point...
Good Luck!

The "Mark II" could be a factory-assembled amp, or an early amp that was converted by Mondial using the no-longer-available upgrade kit.
Practically bullet-proof, excellent sonics, excellent parts quality and workmanship. Even so, those electrolytic caps should be refreshed.
Claimed to drive a "dead short", but of course they didn't specify the length of time it would do so. Long enough to pop a fuse or five is my guess.
I had both a late-production "original" 4004, and a 4004 Mark II. Liked them both. Sold them to buy 8008BBs.
They are decent sounding amplifiers if in good working condition and are good driving ESL's or most hard to drive loads.
BTW , I had preferred the sound of the 4004 over the later 8008 models
