Bryston has announced a new range of amplifiers to replace the SST2 range.

I was on their web-site last evening, and didn't see any mention of that. Must have missed it, somehow.
I'm kind of bummed that I haven't seen a used pair of my favorite monoblock amps for sale in...months; so I was teasing myself by looking at "new" offerings from other companies.
.
Very cool looking. Actually, the original "B" series still sounds fine.
Indeed, the 28BSST"squared" sound excellent. I have a pair of them. According to Bryston, they waited to announce the new amps until they could get a patent approved for some new circuitry. They now have the patent.
Sadly I really do not think i would swing for a new amp mainly money reasons. Over $5K to replace my current Bryston 4BSST² is not in the cards.
However blowing $2500 for a new cable does tempt me..Maybe in a few years I will start salivating for a new amp?
After browsing on 'Audio Circle" Bryston area James tanner, the Bryston dude, mentioned he thinks the SST²will be upgrade-able to the cubed.
I may do that if it happens.

I concur, after the original "B" series, to my ears the B-ST still sounds fine. Add an Audio Research tubed pre-amp and you are set!
I would get the upgrade without a new front panel..
Save a hundred bucks there.
If the upgrade was less than $1,500. (plus shipping)I might go for it.

That is until you hear something better! I had and loved a 4B-NRB for about a decade but wouldn't want it back now that I've bettered it.

Maybe it's just me, but they should rethink the name or take another
year of Geometry, the units are Rectangles, not Cubes.
Maybe you're just joking, but the name is in reference to the version not its shape. The previous version was referred to as "squared" so the next progression is "cubed".

And the next series? "To the power of 4" maybe
