I worked on the chassis for about an hour and I have about 90% of that finished. Again the instructions are VERY clear. You can see on the left side some of the color prints to help you if you get stuck.
I'll post the chassis when I'm done. That should take me about another 30 minutes. So the chassis would only take you about 90 minutes to complete.

Good show ........
This only took two hours. And I was taking my time and being very careful.
Bob is either a genius or has dealt with a LOT of idiots. The instructions are very clear and idiot proof - I use myself as the example.
Everything is in separately marked bags. The boards are VERY well marked. You would have to try to make a mistake.
Air, I suspect you are NOT an idiot. The TRUE idiot, like ME for example, can screw up nearly anything and in unique and unexpected ways!
Glad it's going so well and it appears you are doing good work.

I don't know how these instructions were done to make them so clear but I do know how Dynaco tested their construction booklets. They gave them to secretaries who worked for the company and if they could assemble a kit, they knew that had clear instructions.
Hi Airtime, keep going with the reports and pictures.Your doing a great job! Stereophile and Absolute Sound could not touch what your doing. Your filling in a niche that needs to be filled. Even AudioXpress whose paper version went kaput would have loved your investigated how to article. It is already selling me. Because of you and your article I was finally pushed into buying 2 new electrolytic caps for a pair of Dynaco PAM 1 preamps where I was hesitant before and questioning my own sanity for doing so. I can't wait to see more, but don't rush. Remember the whole Asylum crowd will be checking your soldering joints! Just a little reminder to make you less nervous.....thanks for sharing.....Mark Korda
I'm impressed! With all that individual packaging and marking of parts plus detailed instructions, I wonder if it would be cheaper for BOB to assemble it himself! ;-)
Oh, looks like you have a remote to a Marantz integrated (or other Marantz) in one of your photos. Is that for your background music while you work?
I'm jealous! I want to build an amp. Have fun, and let us know how it goes.
After starting this project I too wondered that. How the HECK could he put so much time into packing this kit to make it worth HIS time. He did an OUTSTANDING job sorting and packing in such a way as to make things go together in order.
A genius at packing and labeling.
The kit is easy to put together. It would just be a matter of your time. I have 2 hours in the driver board. 90 minutes in putting the chassis together. And so far one hour in wiring the trannies.
Pics to follow tomorrow.
