What is the modern equivalent of the good old Advent? I loved that amp a lot. Would like to buy a similar integrated amp. Any new low priced ones? Thanks.
Cheers

Would you day NAD D3020 is better sounding than NAD 326BEE ?
Cheers

Since the d3020 can receive internet radio it is more analogous to the Advent which has an FM tuner section.
buy an advent on ebay and run it until the wheels fall off. use it as a preamp tuner with a chinese amp, whose wheels will also fall off.
Very good idea. But ebay doesnt deliver here. I can get Chinese amps here.
Reminds me of the time I used the Advent phono pre with my Kenwood turntable and a Marantz power amp to drive Rogers and large Advent. ELO sounded fantastic.
Best wishes

I had an Advent 300 for quite a while, it replaced a PAS3x plus the Advent had a tuner and 15 watts / channel to listen to if my Marantz 240 power amp ever had to sent off for repair. (Which it never did.) AR XA and Shure V15-III, those were the days.Drove a pair of ADS L810's. Good sound in some ways but those speakers didn't image well.
Advent 300's are great. I had a friend that used one in his car.... they had a 12 volt option.
Some of the older NAD receivers can be pretty nice. A Monitor Series 7600 is a heck of a rig. Discrete FET phono stage, decent but not Advent 300. Something like a NAD 7250 is good too, especially if you get one that works well at a decent price. I don't like any of the current NAD receivers; their new "digital" integrated amps are pretty cool, though- NAD D3020 and NAD D7050. Get an outboard phono stage. Tons of good ones out there- I think the Parasound original Z-Phono is really good. Even the NAD phono stage is decent. Lots of people like the Bellari, though I think it is over-rated. Then there is a good tube Yaqin MS22b unit that is modestly priced, and available used And don't overlook the Hagerman Cornet.
As for tuners, is there REALLY anything worth listening to on FM? Most of what you can hear on FM can be heard over the Internet, and except for the very best analog FM stations -which are quite rare- the stream will sound better.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I listen to the Internet radio these days.
I think the NAD D3020 must be the closest to the Advent.
Right now I am having a good time with Tivoli Radio's Aux connected to the computer thru Dragonfly DAC. That little speaker is very good.

Not many with that advent's tuner section either....
Happy Listening
I don't know anything about this; just saw it recently.
Not many with a phono section that equals the 300's Holman designed one. As for integrateds, check out Naim, Arcam and Creek, as well as Rega and Linn. But they aren't "low priced".

I bought my Advent for $120 but that was 35 years ago. My son now makes 4 times what I made then, so I can go up to $500 which may be low priced considering the Rogue and such that a lot of inmates buy. That would be a NAD 326 BEE but I dont know if I would like it as dearly as the Advent. But then there is no guarantee that a $1k amp would be as dearly either. A dilemma.

The Outlaw had a lot of good comments. Yamaha also has a dedicated stereo receiver and seems to be more sound quality orientated these days. I believe Marantz also has a stereo receiver and a good line up of integrated amps.
I never heard one but JoLida has a hybrid integrated for around $500.00. NAD and Cambridge also have integrateds in your price.
bought new in 1979, was $279. My current 300 will be off to Ohio for cap/diode upgrades and tuneup in a few months. The Outlaw receiver is a good idea. Might pick up one of those for well under $500. They are $699 new.
