Has anyone auditioned the Rotel 1582 Mk11 stereo amplifier seems to be the very best value 200 wpc amp on this planet
Follow Ups:
When I got to the bottom of this road test, the comparison was made to the A23 Parasound. For me?
I think for <20% more $$$, a PAIR of 'em into the testers biampable B&Ws would kick the Rotels behind.
I won't bother bringing the A21 into the mix, since it it about 1000$ more than the Rotel.
The amp in question also has NO 4ohm factory rating OR bridged rating. This is, to me, a Real red-flag.
My RB1070 had NO such 4 ohm rating and it proved marginal in driving my Panels. And the fact that it had a bridged rating, which implies a 4 ohm rating of about 1/2 the 'bridged' number, provided no comfort.
Too much is never enough
Now running in the 1582 MK 11 for 100 hours , I leave it running for two hours then turn off for 20 minutes then on again this I was told long ago is the best way to age or form the caps. Note it does not have a self contained standby needs the pre-amp for operation by remote but this is no problem. There has been no technical review so far and I will ask B & W about the Factory 4 ohm rating. No problem in turning the amp on/off directly from the UK mains switched wall socket, some amps give thumps through speakers when doing this Quad QSP causes speaker thumps when turning on/off unless operating via the standby.. I like the three pin ground mains on the Rotel, I could not use Quad Platinum due to only two pin mains input , got hum through the speakers.

Some B&W speakers can be a difficult, highly reactive load which less than stellar amps either won't like (poor sounding) or simply won't drive to full potential.
If you have some of the highly reactive B&Ws, the best amp, from an electrical standpoint, is one that can 'take' the wacky phase angles generated by the speakers.
Too much is never enough
I am not using B& W speakers but a virtually unknown TLS speaker by Ultra Resolution Speakers-UK Aurousal VSx and I have ordered a pair of KEF R500 which have just received excellent review in HFN RR SQ rating of 85% same as Sonus Faber Guanari ? . Tomorrow I hope to be able to compare the Rotel 1582 Mk2 with the excellent Arcam A49 using the SF Guanari, should be interesting.
At some point it would be NICE if you were to post a review and put it in the 'reviews' section.

Pretty high accolade indeed. Here in the states, the amp runs about $1500.
For $900, I purchased a five channel Emotiva XPA-5 with similar specs and conservative AB design. While it doesn't offer top shelf sonics, it offers pretty good performance - especially for the price.
I paid £900 awaiting delivery only interested in a stereo amp for front speakers, centre & surrounds are driven by the excellent Sony AVR DA5400ES UK version.
Ok. The 72 lb. stereo XPA-2 with 300 watts/channel goes for $899.
I would not want an obese amp at any price
As for me, I've always appreciated amps with large power supplies and high current capability. :)
I have the RB1582 amp and RC1550 pre. I use these in my everyday background music center. My audiophile room has McIntosh/Sonus faber/Rega P9. The Rotel does very well for the music reproduction - don;t care for it too much when running the TV audio out through it. Rotel is very good equipment at there price point. I have owned many different pieces of Rotel gear and have never been disappointed. I sue the B&W N804 & ASW800 sub with the Rotel setup. I have been told the MkII version is a bit less rolled off on the highs but I have never noticed that with the MkI version.
I am very impressed with the Sonus Faber Guanari but do not care for the Olympica 11 despite its fabulous appearance which MacIntosh amp do you have and which Sonus Faber

C2300 pre, MC452 amp, MCD500 SACD and Sonus faber Cremona Auditor Ms with a REL B1 sub.
Thanks for the info however is it the 1582 Mk1 Rotel you have not the Mk11 which I have just purchased and am awaiting delivery
I have the Mk I version.
OK however I am looking for someone with experience of the MK11 , I will find out for myself shortly when my MK11 arrives and then given a 100 hour burn in.
