Thanks for the heads up.
I read the white papers on both the ML #53 and the Hypex NCore amps. It looks like they took their different directions in design and what they deemed as important (maybe to avoid patent issues?).
I see Hypex is offering a DIY 400 watt board. Would love to get my hands on their larger board to see how it compares against my Mark Levinson #336 because they have similar power ratings.
During the read, I discovered Theta's new Prometheus amp has the larger NCore modules in them. Theta is using their own linear PS (not Hypex's PS). The Prometheus is supposed to be available in April. Am anxious to read the reviews or be able to audition it myself.
Most of the people on the Hypex DIY board like the 400 watt NCore boards, but there is little comparison to big commercial amps.
Thanks again !!!

Nice to hear you've been investigating for yourself. Personally, I don't know that much about the details of the Hypex nCore designs. It seems their business centers around supplying other manufactures and the DIY market may be just an aside.
If I'm not mistaken the Kharma and the Channel Island designs have variations of the UcD and I like what I've heard in the limited time I've had those amps to audition. So the beat goes on with class D.
