Brian [you won't believe how many time I have to correct your name when typing 'Brain'] will the Audio Precision amorphous cores for the Cole stage be made available with a 20x winding? Is this necessary for ultra-low output MCs with the S&B LCR RIAA units or does gain not come into it with the LCRs? Am I missing something here?Big J.
Follow Ups:
I don't think we'll see a 20x winding soon. We have the 600r LCR running now between 2 CCS's and 6922's. There's good enough gain, even 5x will handle the Shelter and 10x fine for Denon 103.
I'll take some measurements soon and post them once I recover from the 'flu. The RIAA looks good.
BTW, Audio Precision is the test instrument and software used to measure the TVC/MC stepup etc.

Take control! DIY.
Lovely. So (sorry if you've mentioned this elsewhere) who is winding this iron for you? And (excuse my ignorance) could the Cole be easily configured to have two separate inputs and outputs without much jiggery-pokery?Hope you feel better soon.
Big J.
Hi J
Mr Shi is the winder. No affiliation with any known boutique.
2 inputs/outputs for switching between multiple turntables and linestages?
There are MM and MC input prs already. There is space on the back for more as long as you have a full set of jiggery-pokery tools.
Mama was right! Thanks for your patience. "Are you tucked up in bed, resting, young man or are you foolin' with that there laptop contraption?". At least you've got your tubes to keep you warm. The day my doctor prescribes 'Two DHT triodes, Class A and Single Ended, three times a day - and *no* negative feeback!' I'll know we've reached critical melomane-mass. Or you could just pray to Harvey the Techno-Shaman in the sky for similar results...
Regards,
Big J.
