Love the smell of napalm in the morning. Goes good with a strong cup of coffee. Like sugar and cream, add the display of stupidity for flavor. It is like watching American Idol, in the morning.Ad hominem attack is known to be alive and well here as clearly demonstrated by recent posts. That fact comes as no surprise. A fallacious and libelous charge of racism reflects more appropriately on those that make it than those that receive it.
The tools required for intelligent discourse simply are not availably to those that rely on such feeble attacks. First, discredit the author to trivialize the issues presented. So, when that does not work, revise history to suit the argument. Then further claim that no one reads warrantees, without presenting statistical proof that such a ridiculous assertion is in fact true.
Apparently a lack of reading comprehension is getting in the way of historical facts and those of current events as well as impeding the understanding of disclaimer and warrantee content. For example, the Internet did not exist back in the time of Saul Marantz et al; so, it is unknown what their approach might have been to the notion of product marketing and sales there. In any event, it is irrelevant to what is currently taking place in the U.S. economy.
What is abundantly clear from the facts of the matter is that in instance addressed here, a anti-consumer and Internet hostile marketing policy is being promulgated by a foreign firm that happens to be based in Japan. That is where the ‘poison†is coming from. Furthermore, this firm is engaging lawyers to intimidate customers who dare to sell their property outside the firms authorized dealer network by using the bogus warrantee issue as a wedge that somehow is supposed to convey a ‘right’ to interfere with the conduct of commerce on the Internet, by telephone or through the mail.
You deserve the market you get, so by all means you enjoy it. Just do not propose imposing it on others that do not want any part of it. Corporate surrogates may make all the charges they want, even those of racism, but eventually they are going to be called to task by some irate citizen that has had enough of the BS and intimidation.
