No No No -7868 sub for EL-84

Posted by Mechans on August 2, 2012 at 10:04:44:

I use 7868s in vintage late 1950s and 1960s integrateds. I own a Sherwood S5500 and S5000 one of which uses 7868 and a Fisher 400 which uses 7868s. I was saying that the two tubes were relatives not substitutes. I hope no one thought I was suggesting that. I own several Sherwoods one of which also takes EL-84s I think I will try Jim's suggestion of the GL. I have heard good things about that one too I should have mentioned. It would be great if the New Sensor GL also made 7868s also.
