JJ ECC802-S Gold Pin - Very nice!

I swapped in these tubes in all 5 12AU7 positions in my pre, the tubes I have been running are GE grey plates, I had the Gold Lions in place for awhile previously.
The Tesla's moved vocals a bit more forward compared to the GE's, and the bass is more pronounced. Compared to the bass provided by the Gold Lions, which seemed too prominent and a bit loose, the Tesla's bass is tight and very clean.
Vocals are clearly on the warm side of neutral with the Teslas, they're rendered in a very palatable manner - very pleasing to the ear. Andrea Corr's voice sounds even sexier with this tube!!
The GE's and the Teslas sound near to identical in the upper mids and the high frequencies, no noticeable roll off, just clean and clear. With lead guitar riffs the Teslas give that necessary growl and edge, but never cross the line to being offensive.
At the price these tubes seem like a steal.
Rick.
