Re: opinions wanted on CBS-Hytron 5692

I agree wholeheartedly about the hytrons being as good sonically as the rca..It seems Rca made many of their tubes but it seems that many of the Hytrons I have had quality issues and they are NOS tubes..I have a pair of 6L6g tubes NOS NIB and while both sounded great for a time, after about 6 months one developed grid leakage and the other a heater to cathode short..I believe they are the same tube as many RCA and tungsols but quality control wasnt as good as it was at RCA and thats the differences we are seeing and its reflecting in the price. Its just a different grade of tube even tho its the same..The Hytron tubes sold for 30% less on average when new and this is from a vintage book I was reading on tubes.
