Re: Has anyone A-B compared audio racks?

Posted by RichardG on October 2, 2002 at 11:54:50:

FYI: I have Ken's Neuance shelf under my Aries/JMW/Shelter (the Neuance "attaches" to the rack shelf via 4 cones, pointed up). The shelf provided very nice improvements in my system, which is on a contrete floor.

FWIW, about a year ago, I picked up a used Zoethecus rack and got more openness and sweetness over my prior Lovan rack. Other improvements as well, though I don't remember the specifics. Part of the difference might have been that I had more room between shelves to insert cones (ever the tweak) and part may have been that the Lovan had three legs while the Zoethecus had 4. More of an improvement than I expected. Like you, I have a First Sound preamp. I now have it on three DH Golden Cones, sitting on the company's squares, sitting on the Zoethecus rack.
