RE: Recommendations for IC for EMM Labs XDS1

Posted by DLS on August 12, 2012 at 12:08:41:

Thanks Johnny and Tom. After checking out Valhallas, I was presented with an opportunity to try Audio Note (UK) Sogon and Sootto interconnects. The Sogon cables were the equal of the Valhalla, perhaps a bit more even (I found the Valhalla a tiny bit 'spashly'). That said, my ten year old BEL P1 interconnects were proving to be highly competitive, though certainly not as revealing (and this from a copper cable which retailed for $212/meter!). Then I inserted the Sootto. OMG, anyone who thinks there is no difference in cables either has an extremely veiled system or never heard their music through these. No longer listening through the proverbial window, which had become cleaner and cleaner with each successful upgrade, the Sootto removed the window entirely. So that settled it - the XDS1 now sings through Sootto cables to the Hovland, and then again from the Hovland to the BEL mono blocks. I am a bit poorer, but very happily revisiting my music collection.
