I think I am stuck with the Aussy plug because I am also using a Thor power conditioner and stabilizer and it's box (power strip) of course is made for Australian plugs. Very hard if not impossible to modify that.

In any case I have found that the cable itself seems to make the main difference in the sound. I am guessing that the receptacles are important but probably come second to the cable itself in terms of sound impact.

Right now I have reached a stage where I am confusing myself. Finding the best PC cable for my DAC was easy but I just can't quite decide which cable sounds better on my Pre amp and the rest of the system. Too may changes at once, need to slow down and give the cables a chance to burn in I suppose.
