I know my 300B amps (SET, one 300B and one 12AT7 per amp) make some noise like that when I shut them off. Everything seems OK, etc..

I would think if it was 'really loud' and/or went on for longer than 10 seconds or so, I would have a look under the hood. Maybe (assuming you can do it safely) turn it on while things are 'exposed' and look for obvious overheating components, etc.. I guess measuring parameters as suggested would be good too!
