Let's not talk about the stuff of my youth

1985 was the first year when i had enough money to buy a turntable. it was a Thorens, i replaced the arm with a Sumiko MMT (i think) arm. Then i was thinking about buying an LP12...Carl the stereo guy whose shop i was hanging out in, talked me into buying a used Well Tempered...it was 1986..I am using the very same table, and get the itch to replace it regularly, but soon i discover i need to spend an awful lot of money to get what would be a big step forward. There will be one more table in my life, i think it will be something like a Teres 360, or an SME30 or Walker, something insane, or maybe i will die with the Well Tempered...it is so hard to get real meaningful improvement over this table. A lot of them sound different, but not night and day better.
