It would be interesting if you played it undamped for a while and then described the difference in sound after installing the damping fluid.

When I bought my Technics SL-1200, I installed the damping fluid into the damping trough while playing a record. Jim Howard was listening from the listening position and he thought the damping fluid made a significant improvement in cartridge tracking. What I heard was tightening in the bass and improved clarity.
