Vintage playback - Ortofon changed spec for spherical tip (on DJ cartridges)

For anyone who has been using the Pro or ProS cartridges for vintage Microgroove/Mono LP playback and needed them for the large spherical tip, be aware that the styli have changed down to a standard 0.7mil spherical from the original 1.1mil tip.
The only tip with the larger bearing radius suitable for Microgroove is the "special elliptical" tip on the Nightclub MkII or the Gold (or Arkiv) which is 0.5x1.1mil (13um x 25um).

The Arkiv is still being sold off at cheap prices as it is now discontinued. It works superbly in a medium mass arm (12g+) for vintage jazz and classical LPs as it is very flat in response and certainly isn't bloated in the bottom end as one might expect from a DJ cartridge.
