The image shows the mains plug on a Technics SL-7 I was recently given by a neighbor. I assumed that the existing plug is a standard European type, and I purchased what I thought would be the suitable easy-peasy adapter from Amazon. To my great disappointment, it isn't. Perhaps the existing plug is proprietary? Can anyone come up with a reason not to chop off the existing plug, and solder on a conventional two-blade plug?
