Get a GE VR-II with a new 1 mil diamond stylus (you might need to try a few to find the best one.) You should be easily able to find a good one well under $100, and new styli are plentiful and cheap. On a good modern medium-high mass tonearm it will track like a champ at 3 to 3.5 grams. These cartridges sound fantastic with a simple vacuum-tube preamp, loaded at 100K (try JE Labs for a great schematic.)
