Thanks for that link. I wasn't going to comment, because it seems to be a controversial topic here, but to my ears, Decca was the first to create true high fidelity LPs for the mass consumer market. Others quickly followed, to be sure, but the very earliest LPs, made by their inventor Columbia, were generally quite poor sounding imo. So credit can be spread around a bit, again imo.
