About 2 weeks ago i found this Pioneer Pl-12D in a dumpster near the local Goodwill. Hooked it up today, but alas...hum. I did my home work again. This time i soldered a solid RCA shielded cable straight to the terminals connecting to the tone arm wires. Mains cable directly to the little electronics board.
Hum gone! This is the quietest Pl-12D i have ever heard and i have fixed up about 5 Pl-12D's already. With a headshell with a fine vintage AT cart this free vintage T rocks!
