Looking for an inexpensive decent phono preamp as a gift for my daughter

I'm giving my daughter my old Technics SL-q2 turntable with a nice sounding Ortofon M20E cartridge and would like a moving magnet phono stage to go with it. Along with a selection of music I think she'll like on vinyl to get her started.

Recommendations?

* I know several people here are keen on the Yaquin. I'm not sure my daughter is ready to deal with tubes however.

* Anyone use the Lounge Audio preamp that was written up in ToneAudio a couple of years ago?

* I've tried the iPhono and found it a bit dry for my tastes. Also more money than I want to spend, if possible. Or it's at the upper limit.

* Is the Musical Fidelity LPS-V still around? I saw a couple of positive reviews, and I have liked other MF gear I've owned (specifically the A5 CD player).

Other suggestions?
