Brahms....a day for Brahms...

symphony No. 1, Dorati / LSO

Not sure why Brahms works for this day, but...well there it is. Above copy Mercury MG50268. This pressing is RFR-1 both sides. Not an RCA pressing and likely made after the sale to Philips. Nonetheless, a nice clean, full and dynamic sounding mono merc.

symphony No. 3, Reiner / CSO
It is hard to resist those shaded dogs, especially when they turn up in the bargain bin for a buck or two.

Another bargain bin rescue. Bruno Walter / Columbia Symphony, Brahms symphony No. 4

I've got a DGG box (tulips) of a young HvK conducting BPO all 4 symphonies.

This is the only source I have for Brahams symphony No. 2.

This should round out the day.
