I acquired a relatively early pressing of an RCA shaded dog record - I have several other pressings of it. I do feel it is the best one sonically, but I am curious about the surface noise. It is very high, but really only in the right channel, and it begins on the outermost grooves and does not increase as I get closer to the center (it is louder on the second side of the record than the first). I am curious about what would cause intense surface noise in one channel versus the other, where it is not any louder at the end of a record. Thanks. Jim O
