RE: RIP Doc Watson

Bummer! I kept waiting for this but hoped he'd live forever.

My dorm room neighbor was a big bluegrass/folk/Dylan lover and I was more into rock/folk/classical. He'd open his door and play bluegrass and among those spins was Doc, mainly from the "Circle.." album. It didn't take me long till I was hooked on bluegrass and hooked on Doc's "Tennessee Stud" rendition. Little did I know that I would end up seeing Doc in concert more than any other(s) I have seen. My neighbor became my best friend, still is today, and we drove from Mich. to Kansas to the Tutt Taylor Dobro Festival that had Doc and so many others including John Hartford (RIP), another one of my all time favorite artists. I never can get over how good Doc was and how good he sounded. I never heard anything but clean notes from Doc. He will be sorely missed!!
