Well, matching is not usually the biggest problem in power supplies, although not having matched energy storage WILL limit the power available from the circuit.

Using bypass caps at the output devices is an absolute requirement, yes, especially with modern FET devices that can just as well turn into an AM transmitter if you're not careful ;-)

The trick, as I recall it, was to make sure that there was a sufficient bandwidth path between and around all 'switching' (i.e. non-class-A) devices for the HF energy to go around.

Circuit board topology (fat grounds, etc) and circuit topology both enter strongly into the mix, of course.
