I came across this basic tube buffer design, and wonder what some folks might think of its topology. Most notably, it features a volume control pot, so it may/may not be a true unity gain buffer stage; perhaps a basic tube-based adjustable gain stage preamplifier. One nice feature of the design is the 12V DC jack in order to use an audiophile-quality external power supply unit.
In my case, the tube buffer is not intended for a critical listening application; I'm considering using it with a new Xfinity X1 DVR CATV box, with a dedicated TeraDak NOS DAC and Bykoz remote-controlled passive preamplifier in the signal path. TIA
