Which DIY board are you using? If you use the VTA-70 with the stock resistors,I don't care for it. The HF87 has superior iron to the ST70 as far as I see.I haven't removed the output transformer to do a comparative sweep, driven by my wide bandwidth Rotel amp.
I am still floored by the EH 6CA7s that I have that test in the high 8000s.I am very tempted to order another quad of them with the same test numbers to see if they sound as good or maybe I just have a unique quad.
