Tube Microphonics article by MULLARD

On the link bellow a very interesting article on valve microphonics, by Mullard.

Interesting to see that the getter, altough not electrically active in the valve, can affect microphonics by its more or less rigid attachment to the top mica;

It seems importante to reduce vibration of the top mica, to avoid relative displacements between grid, anode, cathodes and filament, thus reducing the electrical variations of the vacum tube. perhaps thats why tube dampers are generally more effective in the top third of the tube,where the top mica is located.
