I recently got this stereo SE KT88 amp, with a solid state front end. The only markings that I can see on the boards (which look pretty professional, with SMD components) are "AMP1" on each. Couldn't find anything underneath, with a mirror & flashlight, though it looks like "KB" might have been written in magic marker on one of the power boards.

I got it from an estate auction, where it was listed as a custom job by Emotive Audio, but I've spoken with Fred and he said he'd only made one SE KT88 amp and this ain't it! The auctioneer did tell me, afterwards, that the widow had told him that her husband had paid some huge amount of money for it and everything else at the auction was TOTL - Mac, Emotive Audio, Origin Live, Manley, EAR, etc. So, I'm confident that this is a similar level of kit. The tubes are Genalex Gold Lions, originals not reissues, which might support that hypothesis.

One member over at AK suggested that it might be a prototype, with the writing on the power tranny signifying # 002.
