Two instances I had noticed the difference right away. First instance was when I was ready to throw away my Definitive C-1 Center Channel which was using some 16 gauge speaker cable tossed in by the dealer. The high pitch was unbearable, and at the same time, you can hardly hear a normal conversation that well. I changed all my HT cables to Tara Lab. Now the conversations are very clear and no more unbearable high pitch sounds. The second instance was when I replaced my speaker cable in my two-channel system from Sumiko OCOS to Transparent Ultra. OCOS has received great review for its high performance/price ratio. When I hooked up the Ultra. The soundstage was much more three dimensional and I did hear many improvements in my system, including more details and deeper bass. I am not suggesting you to go out and pay $$$$ for cables. But do compare as many as you can within your price range. I did an A-B-A test with the cables for one week at a time.
