Ever since attending the Audio Show at Rockville MD Hilton in July, I am bothered by the above question. Most of the speakers, perhaps all of them exhibited there were high end and I did not care much for the sound produced. Well, the rooms were not ideal and all rather messy and most confusing but those expensive speakers should have sounded better, at least less bright. There was only the floorstander that Mr Joseph was exhibiting that sounded good. With so many turntables of all kinds of complexities around, I feel they were all pushing the Vinyl angle. And on Sunday afternoon there was a raffle and the winner was awarded, not one of them expensive speakers, but a humble $229 Elac B5.
The layout of the floors of that hotel is one of the worst. So many audiophiles were wandering lost in the corridors.
