Active bi-amping on three way speakers

I wanna bi-amp my speakers but cannot afford an expensive active crossover.

Can I get a cheaper one and use it only on the low pass, leaving the mid and treble drivers connected to the original passive crossover, with a resistor to simulate the woofer?

The goal is to have a steeper filter on the woofer low-pass, and more control over its output, but I don't wanna mess up with the rest.

All drivers are 104dB sensitive so more headroom in the midrange/treble amp isn't really what I'm looking for

any disadvantage of having only the woofer section going trough the crossover? Assuming I'm not choosing a digital crossover, there won't be any delayed induced by the crossver circuitry?
