My latest thought to get rid of my monster, unmoveable 18" woofers is to use a 9" Scanspeak electronically crossed to the Jeff Bagby Kairos design with SB Acoustics drivers. I've heard good things about them. The sonic descriptions sound like what I'm looking for. And Jeff's write up shows the kind of crossover transfer characteristics I'm looking for. But I'd still love to audition a pair before taking the plunge if possible. I wonder if anyone in the central New jersey/New York area has a pair I could listen to. Thanks.
