One of the biggest hits at the turn of the millennium was Savage Garden's "I Knew I Loved You." Of course, it didn't hurt, to have Kirsten Dunst in the music video.
Anyway, in Fall '99, I was working in Class-A commercial real estate, in S.F.'s BofA Building. One afternoon, I went to the men's room. Before I could do anything, I hear, from one of the stalls, a young woman's voice, singing "I Knew I Loved You." No one else was in the restroom. I could tell that the girl was the blonde admin, from Utah, just out of college.
But you know what? Right then and there, the girl singing "I Knew I Loved You" from the can in the men's room musically aced out anything we audiophiles had done.
Well, now that girls like her are now moms, "I Knew I Loved You" has a new lease on life, as it grows in popularity amongst our kids. Hell, even my elderly parents and their generation like this song. So should audiophiles.
