Man, where did this school year go? It seems like it just started. Last August, I was, after over two-and-a-half years, working back in San Francisco. But this time, it was for a non-profit, which raised my spirits. I dropped my kids off at school, where Hailee Steinfeld's "Love Myself" was one of the most popular songs. Everybody was singing the rapid-fire chorus:

Gonna love myself, no, I don't need anybody else
(Hey)
Gonna love myself, no, I don't need anybody else
(I love me)
Can't help myself, no, I don't need anybody else
Anytime, day or nightIndeed, with the video filmed in Los Angeles, the song was immensely popular, here on the west coast. In the car, at stations, on buses, riding BART, in stores and restaurants, I'd hear "Love Myself."
We audiophiles are a little slow, in coming around. For example, it took us a while, to catch on to Pharrell Williams' "Happy." Likewise, with this school year gone in a flash, audiophiles are finally taking to "Love Myself." And since we 'philes tend to be individuals (as opposed to an large and unified army), "Love Myself" has become kind of a proud and feel-good anthem.
Yeah, yeah, three of you still insist that you like Dove Cameron's "Better In Stereo" even more.
