There's also a book called...what else..."The Wrecking Crew", that came out in 2012 by Kent Hartman. Just got it from library. But yeah, I am looking forward to seeing this movie. Growing up in LA back in those days, I too didn't realize who was actually playing on all those great tunes on the AM dial. But getting into jazz in the mid 1970's, some of those names became familiar to me. I think I even saw Tommy Tedesco play in a jazz club in the Valley. Glad to see them getting recognition.
